Goddess offering, an act of self-love

We often spend time giving reverence to external forces, goddesses, entities, and deities. We seek greatness through ancestral ties, ethnicity, family and associations. We associate with these so that we may feel a little better about ourselves. A little less mundane, ordinary and drab.
We perform rituals of beauty giving thanks to the deities and entities for bestowing us with gifts of whatever we ask for. Then we go home. We feel light for a moment. We feel as if the deity/entity has entered our being, letting us shine with their greatness - and we love it.
But then the feeling subsides. And we yearn yet again for the goddess to possess us. So we look for her, outside of ourselves and, start the cycle anew. We are now in a cycle of co-dependence. We have become dependent on an unseen force to make us great. We only become as empowered as we serve this entity/deity outside of ourselves. And if we fail to serve, we get punished and our special light is dimmed or worse.
However, I am here to tell you that as much as this could be the reality you are experiencing, it is not the absolute truth. The truth is you are a goddess. You are the embodiment of the deity/entity you are giving thanks and offerings to. Once you learn this fundamental truth, everything changes. It becomes clear that offering made to goddess is a declaration of love for yourself.
"And the more we declare love to ourselves, the more we embody that love. And the more we celebrate our own sweetness, the more bright we shine. "
You see you are the embodiment of Oshun the sweet and honey dripped deity of love and all things beautiful. You are the whirlwind of Oya the great force of nature who handles her business with grace. Who go to war as fierce as her husband Shango, in defense of what is rightfully hers.
You are the mother, Yemaya, abundant with life and nurture and treasure, who will fight fiercely to protect all her children from harm. You are Olokun the deep and dark ocean, emotionally rich, but a treacherous place for those who venture there uninvited.
You are the goddess Isis wife of Osiris who gives birth to Kings. You, my dear, are life and love. You are precious and glorious. You are beautiful and wise. You are the embodiment of life.
So make time for ritual to your goddess of choice knowing that you are her. That the thanks you give to her are thanks given to you. That the love and respect you are offering her is also offered to you. To your temple, your body, your mind, and soul. When you feed your deities, entities, and goddesses, you are feeding yourself. And feeding yourself this love you must.
The more you acknowledge and celebrate the goddess in you, the more you will rise to your own higher purpose. The more you align with your purpose, the more abundant your life will be.
Ashe!
